"A Passage to Palate"

I tried lamb vindaloo for the first time when I went to Texas. MAN! Completely blown away by the different spices and just the overall dish. Coming back to North Carolina I was on a mission to find some lamb vindaloo. "A Passage To India" is a new restaurant off of University City Blvd and luckily it was on the menu. I got the vindaloo with tandoori roti. That roti gave me some memories....me being a Caribbean Gyal me loovvvvve ROTI....back to the review. The vindaloo was interesting... it didn't taste the same as the one I had in Texas which is okay... different restaurant, different recipe. I will say it did make me dissect the actual dish and what the necessary flavors are to be able to replicate this dish. Overall, I would give the restaurant 8/10 for overall service, the dish itself,

and the time it took for it to be ready. My lamb was a little tough instead of it being delicate like butter and just melting in my mouth. After doing some research the expectation of the lamb being a delicacy within my meal is not what is expected from this culture; goat is the delicacy of the Middle East. Next time visiting I will keep that in mind. Thank you for sharing your cuisine and trusting it with the public. If you live in the University area of Charlotte make sure you give, "A Passage to India" a try! Will have your palate go on a ride of flavor and different spices you may have never tried before, new is always good.
